How to Do Origami Step by Step
If you're wondering how to do origami step-by-step, it's helpful to start with a basic project such as an origami treat sack. Mastering simple origami models will give you the confidence you need to move on to more advanced tasks. While it's not uncommon for advanced origami projects to have 20 or 30 separate steps, this treat sack can be made with only five short steps.
To begin making an origami treat sack, place the patterned side of your origami paper face up. Fold and unfold your paper in half vertically. Fold and unfold the paper the paper horizontally. Mountain fold the top edge to the center crease.
Fold the top corners to the center crease.
Fold the bottom corners in to the center, tucking them under your patterned flaps.
Valley fold your project in half. Mountain fold the same crease to create a flexible opening for your treat sack.
Open your treat sack. Origami treat sacks can be filled with candy, popcorn, or small toys to make excellent party favors when you're entertaining guests. If you need to create a larger sack, try folding your project with 12x12 scrapbook paper instead of standard origami paper.
